Most of the preceding reviews of Mike Swanson and his Wall Street Window website are right on the money. The way he makes his money is through subscriptions. The only reason I gave a half a star is, as another reviewer said; the blog contains some very insightful people after you spend some time to winnow out the chaff. Another reviewer was also correct in saying that Breakpoint trades is a much better site. Any member that dares to ask the wrong questions, or go against the prominent party line, is flamed terribly. I believed Mikes hype when I was first getting into investing and looking for trustworthy information. He ended up costing me a significant sum, not for the subscription, but because I believed in a stock he recommended. He said he was buying in, it looked very good, good, reputable people on the BoD, as it continued on a downward slope, I tried in a variety of ways to get a response out of him what he now thought of the stock. There never was an answer of any sort. As another reviewer said, his so-called 'class', is a joke. In one exchange on his blog, a poster asked a question about some web pages that kept popping up (can't remember the exact details) Mike deigned to reply himself, as this was a prominent poster, his answer was that that was his 'Chinese' guy that designed his advertising for his Wall Street Window, it was just 'sucker candy'( my words). I now avoid all such blogs and bulletin boards, I have a couple of trusted small sources, one for technical, one fundamental. They both know and trust each other. Even then, I read what they say, but have learned enough to make my own decisions. Small subscription sites like these are the best, they are not large 'money making mills', like another one out there that might have something to do with the initials 'CR'. They also charge a reasonable fee, I don't mind paying for what I get, as long as I get what I pay for. Sometimes when you get something for nothing; you get what you pay for. Really appreciate this site and the ability to give a review on WSW, I've thought of him and his site over the last few years, and would like to help others mitigate the mistakes I've made. Can't stop them, we all have to learn the hard way. BTW, (by the way, in the 'new' language) I arrived at this site by doing a google search for 'Mike Swanson Idiot'. he he.
